This handcrafted paper butterfly is inspired by Arhopala hercules, commonly known as the Hercules Blue—an impressive member of the Lycaenidae family admired for its deep, velvety blue wings and powerful presence.

Each butterfly is individually hand-cut, shaped, and formed by hand, creating gentle dimension and lifelike movement. The wings are carefully sculpted and sealed for strength and durability, allowing the butterfly to hold its form while remaining lightweight and versatile.

The Hercules Blue is found across the Australasian region, including Australia and New Guinea, and is part of the large Arhopala group often referred to as “oakblues.” Male specimens are especially striking, displaying rich blue coloration that symbolizes strength, transformation, and quiet resilience.

Mounted in a crystal-clear display box, this butterfly can be enjoyed as a collectible keepsake or used creatively for display, décor, or special projects.
