The Glassy Bluebottle (Graphium cloanthus) is a butterfly of the Australasia / Indomalaya ecozone (Australia). The distribution include Celebes, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines and it extend from the South of China to the North of India.

Graphium cloanthus, is a very interesting butterfly.The first description was in 1841 by Westwood. The wingspan is about 8.0 – 9.0 cm. The Glassy Bluebottle is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. The butterfly is black with broad and transperant areas on the wing. Hind wings have tails. he fore wings are black. In the middle of wing there are some light green spots and a broad light green area. You can show through all light green spots and areas like a window.
The underside is nearly a copy of upside. At the margin there is a grey strip and the ground is dark brown.
The hind wings are black. Nearby the body there is a broad light green area. Next to margin there is a chain of light green spots. You can show through all light green spots and areas like a window.
The underside is nearly a copy of upside. Nearby the body there are two little red spots. Between the greenish area and the greenish spots there are some red spots and the ground is dark brown.
The body is black, but the underside is whitish.
