Papilio euterpinus
Papilio euterpinus is a species of swallowtail butterfly from the genus Papilio that is found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru Papilio euterpinus is a butterfly from Neotropic ecozone (South America). The first description was in 1868 by Salvin & Godman. The wingspan is about 9– 10 cm. Papilio euterpinus is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. The basic colour of this butterfly is dark brown. A orange band dominates the forewings. The hind wings have no tails. The forewings are dark brown. A orange band dominates the wing.
The underside of Papilio euterpinus is very similar to the upside. But, the basic colour is brown. And at the front edge there are two additional yellow spots.
The hind wings of Papilio euterpinus are dark brown and they have no tails. The edge is wavy. At the inner edge there are two little, red spots.
